Albany, NY – Wi-Fi, or free wireless internet, was once a perk at a hotel. Now Wi-Fi is quickly becoming commonplace in cities and towns as a way to attract businesses on Main Street, or to help those in low income neighborhoods access email and the web.
Albany has a Wi-Fi program that is spreading quickly. Tech Valley Communications is behind the growing effort to bring Wi-Fi to the city; company C.E.O. Kevin O'Connor spoke with WAMC's Brian Shields about Wi-Fi and the Albany FreeNet program.
