Burlington, VT – Organizers plan permanent tent camp in City Hall Park starting at 3 o'clock Friday afternoon. They say those who plan to come should bring cold weather camping gear along with tarps, tents, sleeping bags, food, water, games and music. Occupy Vermont Participant Matt Cropp says there have been weekend protests in the Park, but over the past few weeks a consensus was reached to take the conversation to the next level. Vermont Workers' Center Info and Technology Committee Coordinator FaRied Munarsyah (moon-are-shah), a participant in Occupy Vermont, says while Vermont has a positive socio-economic image, there are a lot of problems locally. City Hall Park has an 11 p.m. curfew and Burlington Police Chief Mike Schirling told the Burlington Free Press he would be meeting with the Mayor and officials from the Parks Department to discuss the Occupy encampment. Matt Cropp does not anticipate problems with law enforcement officials. An assistant to the mayor told WAMC that Mayor Bob Kiss would likely not discuss city plans until after they had determined how they would respond to Occupy Vermont's permanent presence in the park.
