Vermont Emergency Management Agency: Time Running Out to Apply for Disaster Assistance

http://stream.publicbroadcasting.net/production/mp3/wamc/local-wamc-987927.mp3

Montpelier, VT – The Vermont Emergency Management Agency is advising Vermonters that time is running out to apply for disaster assistance. WAMC's North Country Bureau Chief Pat Bradley has more...

Vermonters are can get up to 75% reimbursement for eligible repair and clean up costs. But they must submit a request and apply for assistance with FEMA within 30 days of the federal declaration.

That deadline is October first for all counties in the state except Grand Isle. That county has a later deadline, because it had a later federal disaster declaration.

I'm Pat Bradley, WAMC News.
