Vernon, VT – The Vermont Public Service Board this week ordered the Vermont Yankee Nuclear Power Plant to submit bi-weekly reports regarding the plant's progress in finding the source of leaks that have contaminated some groundwater at the reactor site. At the same time, two Republican U.S. Senators are criticizing the Nuclear Regulatory Commission for taking too long to approve license extensions for the Vermont nuclear plant and the Pilgrim station in Massachusetts.
