Massachusetts – Tuesday afternoon, congressional lawmakers on Capital Hill voted to pass a 26 billion dollar measure that aims to prevent layoffs in education and to increase Medicaid funding to states. Many states had already budgeted these dollars but a log jam in Washington forced them to make last minute cuts to their budgets. WAMC's Berkshire Bureau Chief Charlie Deitz reports that Massachusetts is in line for about 650 million dollars which will help restore cuts to local aid and human services
