Friedman Day: A new look at Tax Freedom Day

Great Barrington, Ma – Every year the Tax Foundation announces Tax Freedom Day, the day when Americans are free from tax burdens, assuming every penny they make up until that day goes to the government, this year, Tax Freedom day fell on April 9th. However, the American Institute for Economic Research in Great Barrington says that if Americans had to pay for the federal deficit also, they would be paying for another 7 weeks. WAMC's Berkshire Bureau Chief Charlie Deitz spoke with Doctor Pat Norton, a Senior Fellow at AIER about what they're calling Friedman (FREED-min) Day .
