Springfield, MA – The countdown is underway in Springfield City Hall for the return to local control over the government of the largest city in Western Massachusetts. Governor Deval Patrick's signing last week of the so-called Springfield Bill, means the appointed Finance Control board will disband by June 30th and end five years of strict oversight.
