Interim UMass Amherst Chief Talks About Plans

Amherst, MA – Sixty-six year old Thomas Cole Junior, the former President of Clark Atlanta University came out of retirement to become the interim Chancellor of the University of Massachusetts flagship Amherst campus. Doctor Cole will lead the campus, while a nationwide search takes place for a permanent successor to John Lombardi, who is now President of Louisiana State University. Doctor Cole has said he would not be a candidate for the permanent chancellorship. WAMC's Pioneer Valley Bureau Chief Paul Tuthill spoke last week with Dr Cole in the chancellor's office ....
