Albany, NY – President Barack Obama is riding a wave of popularity in the wake of the killing of Osama bin Laden, but Americans still feel the economy is in poor shape. Gallup Tracking shows the president's approval rating has jumped six points to fifty-two percent after bin Laden's death, but a CNN/Opinion Research Corporation survey released today finds that eight in ten Americans feel the economy is in poor shape. The question is will Obama's jump in popularity last over the long term, or will it dwindle in the face of the public's generally negative view of the economy?
