The Argyle Brewing Company - Winter Beers

Argyle Brewing Logo

Here is a story: New York specifically allows cities and counties to exercise a local option by public referendum whether to go dry. You know, no alcohol. One of those towns was Argyle, in Washington County, NY. In Argyle, the measure had come up for a vote for decades – only to be defeated by voters. That is until this past November when it was overwhelmingly passed at the polls.

The Argyle Brewing Company had been unable to open in their own town. So, they opened in neighboring Greenwich – with the slogan: Dry Town – Wet Basements. Apparently now, they need a new slogan.

The Argyle Brewing Company is a NYS Farm Brewery and has is quickly becoming the place to meet in town after opening in early 2014. The brewery operates under a New York Farm Brewery license, meaning a certain amount of our ingredients come from right here in New York.

The brewer trio joins us this morning: Matt Stewart, Chris Castrio and Rich Thomas.

Joe talks to people on the radio for a living. In addition to countless impressive human "gets" - he has talked to a lot of Muppets. Joe grew up in Philadelphia, has been on the area airwaves for more than 25 years and currently lives in Washington County, NY with his wife, Kelly, and their dog, Brady. And yes, he reads every single book.
