Learning and playing music, more than almost any other activity, strengthens and preserves brain function. Moreover, the brain of a musician is markedly different from that of a non-musician.
In a free multimedia presentation on Wednesday night, March 20 at 7 p.m. at the Guilderland Public Library, UAlbany Neuroscientist, Dr. Ewan McNay, who conducts research in his brain-scanning lab, discusses just how and why this happens and explains how continuing to make music helps keep your brain young. The program is entitled: "Music And The Mind: The Lifelong Benefits Of Music For The Brain."
This event is co-sponsored by Bach Cello Suites Workshop and the Guilderland Public Library.
