Simon Townshend To Play Daryl's House

Alan Barnes
Simon Townshend

Simon Townshend is highly regarded for his raw and honest songwriting, meticulous playing and distinctive vocals — apparent on his latest album, Denial, released last year. Over the past three-plus decades, Townshend has released seven studio albums, two live albums, and two EPs.

After spending much of the year in arenas across the country as part of his duties touring with The Who — his older brother is Pete and Simon has been in the band for almost 20 years — Townshend is heading back to the States on his #OneManAndHisGuitar tour.

Simon Townshend will play at Daryl’s House in our region in Pawling, New York on Thursday.

A lifelong resident of the Capital Region, Ian joined WAMC in late 2008 and became news director in 2013. He began working on Morning Edition and has produced The Capitol Connection, Congressional Corner, and several other WAMC programs. Ian can also be heard as the host of the WAMC News Podcast and on The Roundtable and various newscasts. Ian holds a BA in English and journalism and an MA in English, both from the University at Albany, where he has taught journalism since 2013.
