Union workers in Schenectady rallied outside of General Electric today, asking the company to ramp up production of ventilators during the COVID-19 pandemic. 

On the highest single day increase in coronavirus deaths and new hospitalizations in New York, Governor Andrew Cuomo is mandating that upstate hospitals share their spare ventilators with downstate hospitals that are overwhelmed with dealing with COVID-19 patients and rapidly running out of the machines.

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo has estimated that the state needs at least 30,000 ventilators to meet projections during the COVID-19 crisis, which has already hospitalized thousands in the state.
