New York Governor Andrew Cuomo announced Wednesday the start of construction for a $150 million road, transit and economic development hub in the Town of Woodbury in Orange County. The project is expected to relieve major traffic congestion in the area and be completed five years ahead of schedule.

Help is on the way sooner than expected for an area in Orange County that can be a traffic nightmare. New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, during his Mid-Hudson regional State of the State address this week, announced the acceleration of a transit project in Woodbury.

About 50 protestors gathered this morning near a water pipeline construction site in New York’s Orange County. They say the pipeline should not be going in the ground without permits in place for a larger project.

A New York State Assemblyman says he arranged for bus transportation for those who want to join in opposing a controversial water pipeline construction project in Orange County. Construction resumes this morning, and is expected to cross a town line.
