Several New York state Senate Democrats are calling for the state Department of Labor to forgive unemployment overpayments.

Several lawmakers in the Hudson Valley are urging New York state officials to set up joint COVID-19 vaccine distribution sites closer to home. Local leaders in the region have repeatedly said traveling to the closest state sites is too far for many mid-Hudson region residents.

Two New York state lawmakers who represent parts of Rockland County have introduced legislation to allow ward systems for school districts.

With their residents expressing frustration and confusion, Hudson Valley county executives are directing them to go to the state with their issues about signing up for the COVID-19 vaccine. And one leader is imploring the state to send more vaccine as all the counties grapple with high demand and little-to-to-no supply.
