Vermont Governor Phil Scott, who signed several high-profile gun control laws last year, has vetoed a measure that would have imposed a waiting period to purchase handguns.

After vetoing legislation to impose a 24-hour waiting period to purchase handguns, Vermont Governor Phil Scott said at his weekly press conference that he's not convinced the bill would prevent suicides or gun deaths.
