As a parking garage is being constructed in downtown Saratoga Springs – something debated in the Spa City since 1992 – one city councilor believes more should be done to accommodate city-owned vehicles.

The City Council in Saratoga Springs has approved a new downtown parking garage. The structure has been the subject of discussion in the Spa City for decades.

The city of Plattsburgh won $10 million in the first round of New York Downtown Revitalization Initiative grants.  A major part of the redevelopment will occur at the Durkee Street parking lot in the city center.  An advisory committee has been working on recommendations to deal with the loss, shuffling and management changes of the nearly 300 spaces expected to be impacted.
