Omega CEO Talks Economic Impact, Area Projects

A study finds that Omega Institute for Holistic Studies in Dutchess County has a large economic impact on the Mid-Hudson region. Omega, based in Rhinebeck, retained an outside firm to provide an economic and fiscal impact assessment of the nonprofit organization’s operations on the Mid-Hudson Valley.  WAMC’s Hudson Valley Bureau Chief Allison Dunne spoke with Omega CEO Robert “Skip” Backus about the study as well as a proposed water bottling project in the area.

The Clintons are delivering speeches in New York this evening, though in separate places. Former President Bill Clinton will be in Dutchess County.

The Omega Center for Sustainable Living at Rhinebeck-based Omega Institute for Holistic Studies is hosting a conference this weekend entitled “Where We Go From Here: Opportunities & Solutions for an Interdependent World.”  Bill Clinton will deliver the keynote address Friday evening to kick off a weekend-long discussion about a holistic approach to sustainability. It is the first time he is speaking at Omega.
