As COVID-19 cases increase across New York and the nation, Westchester County is no exception. In fact, the sharp uptick has the county executive and his team very concerned and working to keep any part of the county from facing the most severe of state-imposed restrictions.

A New York state senator will face incumbent Republican Rob Astorino in the November election for Westchester County executive. Democrat George Latimer won his party’s primary with 63 percent of the vote on Tuesday.

Eight area groups sponsored a forum Sunday with the Democratic contenders for Westchester County executive. And depending on the outcome of the county Democratic convention May 10, there could be a September primary to see who faces off against incumbent Republican Rob Astorino.
