Kingston residents would see their tax rate stay the same under the mayor’s proposed 2021 budget. Mayor Steve Noble says that despite tough fiscal impacts from the coronavirus pandemic, the city is able to make do.

Kingston is partnering with Bard College to monitor the city’s air quality. The Kingston Air Quality Initiative is providing hard data on one particular pollutant. The hope is that the information will help drive policy, shape development and educate the public.

A blast of snow for some, a wintry mix for others. Officials across upstate New York are scrambling to meet the challenge of the latest storm.

Kingston’s mayor says there will be an amnesty period for parking citations.  He’s hoping those who participate also will donate food for local pantries. WAMC’s Allison Dunne has more.

In New York, a city environmental educator has launched a campaign to run for mayor of Kingston.

City of Kingston Environmental Educator Steve Noble stood in Tony’s Pizzeria Saturday and announced a bid to run for mayor.  Noble's "OneKingston" campaign emphasizes infrastructure, economic development, government reform, and open communication.

“I’ve been working to make this city a better place,” says Noble. “And I am committed to working even harder to make this the best place for my family and for each of your families to live and be successful.”
