A new Siena Poll finds a majority of New Yorkers support the state's deal with internet giant Amazon, which is facing opposition in the state Senate.

A report in the Washington Post says Amazon is considering pulling out of a deal to build its New York City headquarters, due to opposition from state and city elected officials who represent the Queens district where the company wants to build. Governor Andrew Cuomo, in a speech to a business group on Long Island,  says his Democratic colleagues in the state Senate are to blame.

Westchester Pitches To Land Amazon Headquarters

County Executive Rob Astorino is making a pitch to try and land Amazon’s second headquarters in Westchester. He stood outside the Westchester County Center in White Plains Tuesday with several elected officials and business and education leaders, saying Westchester has a number of locations at the ready and is the smartest choice for the e-commerce giant.

Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino plans an announcement Tuesday morning about his pitch to try and land the second global North American headquarters for Amazon.

    The announcement that Amazon is looking for a site to develop a second headquarters has city and state official across the country racing to put together proposals.  A robust in-state competition is shaping up in Massachusetts.
