  • Ruben Studdard and Clay Aiken are reuniting 20 years after captivating audiences during their run on the second season of Fox's "American Idol" in 2003. Both plucked from the relative obscurity of their hometowns and the south. The pair quickly became audience favorites. instrumental in helping propel idol to the top of the Nielsen ratings nearly tripling the viewership of the previous season and securing its place as one of the most consequential TV series in American history. Their new tour "Twenty" will kick-off on Wednesday, April 12, at 7:30 p.m. at The Troy Savings Bank Music Hall in Troy, New York.
  • Musicians of Ma’alwyck is a flexible-size chamber ensemble in residence at the Schuyler Mansion New York State Historic Site and Schenectady County Community College. This coming weekend they will perform a concert entitled “Celestial Melodies” which celebrates Composer and Astronomer William Herschel. Director of Musicians Of Ma'alwyck Ann-Marie Schwartz and MiSci Astronomy Educator Kerry Lewis join us.
  • At The Egg in Albany on Saturday, March 11, Mark O'Connor will perform a mix of music from his storied career – accompanied by violinist Maggie O’Connor, read excerpts from his book, and answer questions from the audience.
  • Since 1974, The Robert Cray Band has been touring and recording their unique groove, born from a love of Soul, R&B, Gospel, Blues and Rock n Roll. The five-time Grammy winner has been inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame and earned the Americana Music Awards Lifetime Achievement for Performance. The band will be at The Mahaiwe in Great Barrington, Massachusetts on March 4.
  • Cliff Brucker’s Full Circle Sextet featuring Leo Russo will be at The Linda on Thursday, January 26. The show celebrates a musical friendship four decades deep between Brucker, an active drummer, pianist, bandleader, and sideman; and saxophonist Leo Russo. Cliff Brucker and Leo Russo join us along with Leo’s longtime friend, guitarist Mike Novakowski.
  • A Winter’s Night will be sung by the Battenkill Chorale at the Cambridge United Presbyterian Church on Saturday at 7 and Sunday at 3 this coming weekend. The concert will feature works by Norwegian composer and pianist Ola Gjielo.Gene Marie Callahan, Artistic Director of The Battenkill Chorale and Lecturer in Creative Arts at Siena College and Organist and Choir Director at Old First Church in Bennington VT joins us now for a preview.

  • Deon Jones is a musician and artist with one of the most important voices of his generation. Jones created his first recording project—a powerful rendition of “Sunday Bloody Sunday” featuring Academy Award-winning composer Jon Batiste — after being shot by police in the face with a rubber bullet during the 2020 summer protests. The recording has been hailed by Rolling Stone magazine and U2’s Bono as “transformative” and by The Boston Globe as “a performance with clarifying power.” Jones brings his transformative energy to the Hunter Center at MASS MoCA on Saturday, March 19.The music video for Deon Jones’ cover of “Sunday Bloody Sunday” is part of artist Glenn Kaino’s exhibition “In the Light of a Shadow” which is installed in MASS MoCA’s Building 5 through September 5. The exhibition is inspired by the connection between protests across the globe.
