People are acquiring strange new astronomy notions. Take the super moon, a newly coined term for when the moon comes closer than average. When that caught on a few years ago and the major media ran headlines, "Don't miss tonight's super moon!" confusion arose, because such a moon looks just like every other full moon.

But media hype is creeping beyond our planet and sweeping through the universe.

As a result, wrong ideas are widespread. For example, if you ask anyone the first words spoken from the moon, they'll invariably mention the "One small step..." speech. Actually, the first lunar words were, "Okay, engine stop." And soon after came, "Houston, Tranquility Base here. The Eagle has landed!" Those were the first words.

Only much later, after the two astronauts had been chatting away for 7 hours, did Armstrong say, "That's one small step. . ."
