Governor Dannel Malloy is continuing to call for a major investment in Connecticut’s transportation systems, before unveiling the details of his plan.Governor Malloy was in New Haven Tuesday morning echoing what he said during his State of the State address earlier this month.

“What I’m asking the people of Connecticut is do they want to commit to a master plan of transportation improvement that will be best in class and will allow us to compete with 49 other states and the rest of the industrialized world or do they just simply want to maintain their favorite item to complain about?” said Malloy.

Malloy says the plan he expects to detail in the coming weeks will involve rail, bus, highway, bike and pedestrian projects. The Democrat says the 30 year commitment will dwarf the state’s 65 percent increase in capital transportation spending over his past four years.
