Williamstown, Massachusetts will buy and provide upgrades at its police headquarters.
The Williamstown Police Department is moving into the former Turner House Veterans Home on Route 7 so it can have more room.
The town wants to buy the property for no more than $300,000. The Select Board plans on renovating and adding a new wing to the building for roughly $4.7 million.
It would provide the police department with additional holding cells, security, office space, an armory and a dispatch center.
Residents need to approve the plan at a special meeting later this year. If approved, police would move in early 2019.
