Westchester County Has A New Program For Entrepreneurs

Westchester has a new program designed to launch businesses in the county. The idea is to inspire and nurture entrepreneurial talent.

Westchester County Economic Development Director Bridget Gibbons says about a year ago, she toured the county talking with employees and executives of different size businesses across a variety of sectors.

Those accepted to the program will be provided free full-time space at a co-working office. Gibbons says selecting those offices is a work in progress.

She says the county will pay a monthly fee for the co-working location.

Gibbons says a goal is to complete the entrepreneurial ecosystem in the county.

She says the county will use the first cohort to adjust for the second cohort, to see if there’s an industry focus, for example, or what in the program needs tweaking.

The application deadline for entrepreneurs for Element 46 is April 26.
