Watervliet Police Say Remains Belonged To Newborn

Police in Watervliet say the human remains found in a yard were those of a newborn child.

A forensic analysis was performed on the skeleton discovered Friday outside of a home on 13th Street in the Albany County city.

In a statement Saturday, Watervliet Police Chief Joseph Centanni said the department would bring the people responsible for the crime to justice, and said “the callous manner in which this infant child was discarded violates the core of all decency and humanity.”
