Vermont House Chamber

Governor Peter Shumlin has appointed a Waterbury woman to a vacant seat in the Vermont House of Representatives.
Theresa Wood will fill the seat that had been held by Rebecca Ellis, who resigned from the Legislature in August to join the Shumlin administration.

The district Wood will represent includes the towns of Waterbury, Huntington, Buel's Gore, and Bolton.

Wood has served as deputy commissioner at the Department of Disabilities, Aging and Independent Living. She currently serves as the Vermont Agency of Transportation's Community Liaison in the region. She also helped manage Waterbury's recovery following Tropical Storm Irene, which hit in 2011.
