Washington Co. Sheriff's Deputy Involved In Fatal Crash

Facebook: New York State Police

New York State police have released more information on a deadly accident involving a sheriff’s patrol car in Washington County on Monday.

Troopers says 24-year-old Deputy Cori Winch was on duty and not in an emergency operation when his patrol cruiser crossed the center of Route 40 in the town of Argyle and struck an oncoming vehicle just before 7 a.m. The deputy was treated at Glens Falls Hospital and released.

The driver of the other vehicle, 72-year-old Susan Harrington of Argyle was pronounced dead at the scene.

State police say the investigation continues but there is no indication that speed or alcohol contributed to the cause of the crash.
