The Hudson Valley’s famous pedestrian bridge will hold its annual First Day hike.
Walkway Over the Hudson will host its fourth annual First Day Hike. Participants may begin their January 1 hike from either of the main entrances, at Lloyd in Ulster County or at Poughkeepsie, in Dutchess County. The 2 p.m. hike, while marking the beginning of Walkway’s 2015 activities, comes after a year that saw an elevator installed at Walkway in August, a first visit from home décor aficionado Martha Stewart for Walkway’s annual fall fundraiser, and the announcement that Walkway will hold its first marathons in June. (The elevator will not be open for the hike.)
