Vermont State Police are investigating the cause of a fire in Williamstown that led to the death of a 6-year old.
The Williamstown, Northfield, Barre Town, Brookfield and East Randolph fire departments responded just before 3:30 Monday morning to a fire at the home of Kevin and Susan Lashomb in Williamstown.  State Police in Middlesex report that three of the eight family members living at the house were taken to the University of Vermont Health Network hospital.

Kevin Laschomb is being treated for burn injuries and is in stable condition.  His 23-year-old daughter Tanika was treated and released.  6-year-old Chance was trapped in his bedroom. He was pronounced dead at the hospital and an autopsy will be performed.

Vermont State Police Arson and Fire Safety experts are investigating.
