Vermont lawmakers are back at the Statehouse in Montpelier for the 2018 legislative session.
Democratic House Speaker Mitzi Johnson gaveled the chamber into session in the Montpelier Statehouse just after 10 a.m. Tuesday.

The Senate convened around the same time.

In a brief speech, Johnson said the session would focus on ways to ensure Vermont remains a place where people want to live.  “Let’s work to give every Vermonter a shot at success, a shot at the Vermont dream.”

Republican Gov. Phil Scott is scheduled to give his state-of-the-state address Thursday afternoon.
