The state of Vermont has created a ‘Jobs for Youth’ initiative to help at risk youth find employment.
Governor Peter Shumlin, Chittenden County State's Attorney TJ Donovan, and officials from the  Vermont Department of Labor announced the program Monday.  It will provide mentoring services to help obtain summer employment.

A workshop will be held later this month for youth between 16 and 24.

The program targets those with high risk barriers to employment such as a criminal record, disabilities, homelessness, and school dropouts.
