A Vermont lawmaker wants the Legislature to ask Attorney General William Sorrell to clear the governor's office to release emails possibly related to the EB-5 immigrant investor scandal.
Representative Chris Pearson, a Burlington Progressive,  plans to offer a resolution to call on Democratic Governor Peter Shumlin to release the emails, as well as another batch that the governor's office had sought to delete.

Shumlin spokesman Scott Coriell says the governor is eager to release emails related to the scandal and has asked Attorney General Bill Sorrell to lift a "litigation hold" blocking their release. Coriell says none of the emails in the second batch is related to the EB-5 scandal.

Pearson's resolution says he wants to promote transparency in government.
