Vermont’s governor has banned any state-sponsored trips to North Carolina in response to a new law in the Tar Heel State.
A law passed during a special session last week by the North Carolina legislature and signed into law by Governor Pat McCrory has been widely criticized as discriminating against LGBT individuals.

On Tuesday Vermont Governor Peter Shumlin banned official state travel to North Carolina until further notice saying “The law passed in North Carolina is an absolute disgrace.”

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo has announced a similar ban.
