Ulster County Legislator Arrested On Assault Charge

Ulster County Legislator Christopher Allen was arrested on Friday on an assault charge in connection with an alleged incident that occurred on Friday, September 18.

The misdemeanor charge against Allen, 47, of Saugerties, stemmed from an incident in the Town of Hunter where he was allegedly involved in a physical dispute in a parking area off Route 23A. Following a police investigation, he was charged with causing physical injuries to another person during a dispute.

Allen was arraigned and released on his own recognizance.

State Police were assisted by the Greene County District Attorney’s Office.
