Troy Charter Review Public Hearing Tonight

Troy city seal

The Troy Charter Review Commission is seeking public input tonight.

With its preliminary draft of proposed changes to the Collar City’s charter released late last month, the commission is holding a public hearing at city hall at 6 p.m. tonight. The nine-person Charter Commission has been working since January on what would be the first major overhaul to the city charter since 1973.

Residents can also submit comments on the draft charter proposal by email at charter-review@troyny.gov or by snail mail.

The draft proposes reducing the city council by two seats and putting in place an at-large council president, who would serve a four-year term on the same electoral cycle as the mayor.
