Troopers: 20-Year-Old Fatally Shot By Fellow Hunter

State police say a 20-year-old man has died after a member of his hunting party accidentally shot him in central New York.

The incident happened Sunday morning, the second day of regular big game season in New York’s Southern Zone.

Troopers say Joshua Morgan of the Herkimer County town of Newport was shot around 8:45 a.m. in woods north of Route 5S in Frankfort. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation is continuing. No further details were released.
