Town Supervisors Form Coalition After Monsey Attack

There is a coalition forming in New York’s Rockland County on the heels of an attack at a rabbi’s Monsey home.

Five town supervisors are forming a coalition to combat hatred and promote unity. They are doing so after a machete attack December 28 during a Hannukah celebration at the rabbi’s home. The supervisors of Clarkstown, Haverstraw, Orangetown, Ramapo — where the hamlet of Monsey is located — and Stony Point are joining to bring unity and understanding to their communities. The Five Town Supervisors’ Coalition will hold its first meeting January 23rd at the Crowne Plaza in Suffern. They plan to talk about their ideas for restoring calm in Rockland County. The 1 p.m. meeting is open to the public. Police chiefs from the five towns will be in attendance.
