After recent underground water and sewage breakdowns throughout the Capital Region, Democratic Congressman Paul Tonko is renewing his call for passage of the AQUA Bill. The bill would provide $21 billion over five years for local infrastructure projects.

“Troy, Albany, Amsterdam experiences of recent past, are added motivation, inspiration that speaks to us in a powerful way that we need to heed what’s happening around us,” said Tonko, a co-sponsor of the legislation.

On Friday, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo announced $56.4 million in grants and loans for water and sewer infrastructure projects in the Capital Region and Mohawk Valley.
