Tax Rate Is Down, Bills Are Up In Clarksburg

Although the town has approved a lower tax rate, bills will still be going up for property owners in Clarksburg, Massachusetts.

The Clarksburg Select Board approved a tax rate last week of $15.31 per $1,000 of assessed value. That’s 50 cents less than last year.

Property values have been raised to what they were five years ago, and the town’s overall assessed value has skyrocketed $9 million to $123 million. But the town is nearing its levy limit – with only $1,000 to spare.

The average household will pay about $108 more on its annual tax bill – totaling $2,600.
