Stockbridge, Massachusetts has scheduled the 30th annual Norman Rockwell Holiday Celebration.
The Berkshire town’s yearly tribute to the iconic American artist – who called Stockbridge home – isn’t just about recreating the idyllic New England holiday scene Rockwell captured in his painting “Stockbridge Main Street at Christmas.” Barbara Zanetti, Executive Director of the Stockbridge Chamber of Commerce, says the event boosts the local economy at a critical time.
“We are a very small town community, so bringing business to town during the slower period of time is extremely important, and our weekend that we have when we do the celebration is really the best sales for our businesses,” she told WAMC.
The holiday celebration runs from December 6th to the 8th, featuring readings, songs, caroling, a car show, and more.
