State Grant Will Support Construction At Schenectady County Airport

A major upgrade will be completed at a Capital Region airport with the help of a state grant.

A $1.485 million state grant was announced Monday for a new Business Aviation Complex at Schenectady County Airport.

The grant will be used to extend water and sewer lines to a new aircraft apron that the county is set to construct. The county will contribute about $165,000 to the project.

Once the work is complete, it will allow Richmore Aviation to build a new hangar and office complex at the site.

The Schenectady County Airport is also home to the Stratton Air National Guard Base.

Schenectady County legislature chair Anthony Jasenski thanked Democratic Governor Andrew Cuomo for the quote “significant investment.”
