Devin Singletary scored on a 14-yard run and Frank Gore iced the game with a 1-yard plunge into the end zone with 5:53 to play as the Bills completed the New York/New Jersey sweep at MetLife Stadium.
Antonio Brown caught a 20-yard touchdown pass in his debut for the New England Patriots, and they scored twice on interception returns in a two-minute fourth quarter span to beat the Miami Dolphins, 43-0. Brown finished with 56 yards on four receptions, all in the first half.
Russell Wilson threw for three touchdowns, including a 28-yard rainbow to DK Metcalf midway through the fourth quarter, and the Seattle Seahawks held off the Pittsburgh Steelers 28-26. The Steelers lost starting quarterback Ben Roethlisberger to a right elbow injury.
Dak Prescott carved up the Washington Redskins' defense with his arm and his legs, completing 26 of 30 passes for 269 yards and three touchdowns and rushing for 69 yards in a 31-21 Dallas Cowboys victory Sunday to improve to 2-0. He's the first Cowboys quarterback to compile seven touchdown passes in the first two games of the season since Don Meredith in 1966.
Julio Jones hauled in a short pass on fourth down and took it 54 yards to the end zone with 2:10 remaining, giving the Atlanta Falcons a wild 24-20 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday night. The Falcons squandered a 17-6 lead against an injury plagued team that lost two of its top receivers, falling behind for the first time when Carson Wentz dove over from the 1 with 3:13 left to give the Eagles a 20-17 edge. Philadelphia had a chance at the end when Wentz converted on fourth-and-14, somehow getting off a pass with a rusher in his chest that Nelson Agholor hauled in between two defenders for a 43-yard completion to the 18. But Atlanta held on, stopping Zach Ertz about a yard short of the marker on another fourth-down play inside the 10 to preserve a much-needed victory. Jones bailed out Atlanta — and became Atlanta's career leader in receiving yards with his winning score.
In NFL news, a person with direct knowledge of the situation says the NFL plans to meet Monday with a woman who says she was raped by New England Patriots receiver Antonio Brown. Brown’s attorney said Brown and Britney Taylor had "a consensual personal relationship" and says Brown plans to countersue.
The Saints have signed coach Sean Payton to an extension running through the 2024 season. Payton had been earning about $9 million per year in a contract that was due to expire after the 2020 season.
Washington’s Adrian Peterson has passed Jim Brown for fifth place for most rushing touchdowns in NFL history with his 107th. It happened against the visiting Dallas Cowboys. The 34-year-old Peterson is in his 13th NFL season.
Tennessee offensive lineman David Quessenberry, who fought off cancer to finally play in the NFL, now has his first career touchdown catch. He caught the pass from Marcus Mariota after reporting eligible on a first-and-goal against the Colts. Quessenberry was diagnosed with cancer in June 2014 and spent three years fighting the disease.
John Ralston, the former Stanford and Denver Broncos coach, has died. He was 92. San Jose State, where Ralston finished his coaching career and later worked as special assistant to the athletic director, said Ralston died Saturday in Sunnyvale, California.
COLLEGE FOOTBALL
California and Arizona State have moved into the AP Top 25 college football poll to give the Pac-12 six ranked teams, the most for the conference in almost four years. A weekend filled with blowouts left the top half of the poll mostly unchanged. Clemson remains No. 1. Alabama was No. 2, followed by Georgia, LSU, Oklahoma, Ohio State, Notre Dame, Auburn and Florida.

Pitchers Dellin Betances and Jordan Montgomery made their season debuts for the Yankees after lengthy layoffs, and New York finished its longest road trip of the season with a 6-4 loss to the Toronto Blue Jays.
Jedd Gyorko came off the bench late and played a big role in rallying the Los Angeles Dodgers to a 3-2 victory that damaged the New York Mets' dwindling wild-card chances. Gyorko scored the tying run in the eighth inning on Chris Taylor's double and hit an RBI single off Seth Lugo with two outs in the ninth to put the NL West champions in front.
Christian Vázquez homered twice, including a grand slam, and drove in a career-high five runs to lead the Boston Red Sox to a 6-3 victory over the Philadelphia Phillies. Boston began play trailing Tampa Bay by 10 games for the AL's second wild card.
Aníbal Sánchez beat his former team for the third time this season, Howie Kendrick homered and drove in three runs and the Washington Nationals prevented a three-game sweep, beating the NL East-leading Atlanta Braves 7-0. Washington, which clinched its eighth winning season in a row, ensured it would not lose ground in the wild card race. Atlanta's magic number to clinch the NL East remained at four.
In MLB news, Mike Trout's season is over. The Los Angeles Angels say the eight-time All-Star will have surgery on his right foot this week because of Morton's neuroma, a thickening of tissue around a nerve leading to toes that cause pain. He'll be scheduled for surgery to have the neuroma removed later in the week.
Atlanta's Charlie Culberson sustained multiple facial fractures when he was hit by a 91 mph pitch from Washington's Fernando Rodney. Culberson was struck on the right side of his face as he squared to bunt Saturday. Rodney, who was throwing his first pitch of the game, apologized to the Braves on Sunday.
Major League Baseball has expressed "regret" over a miscommunication that resulted in a 2-1 loss for the Chicago White Sox against the Seattle Mariners on Saturday night. Seattle's Omar Narvaez hit a ball off the top of the wall in the bottom of the 10th inning that was ruled a home run by umpires. Had a replay review been conducted, the game would have continued tied at 1.

The Boston Bruins have signed defenseman Charlie McAvoy to a three-year contract that will pay him $14.7 million. The 21-year-old McAvoy emerged as one of the top defensemen on the Eastern Conference championship team last year. Playing alongside Zdeno Chara on the No. 1 pairing.
BASKETBALL
Spain has captured its second World Cup championship, defeating Argentina 95-75 on Sunday to give Marc Gasol a rare double-title year. For Gasol, it was historic. The Toronto Raptors center becomes the second player to win an NBA title and a FIBA world gold medal in the same year, joining Lamar Odom — who did it for the Los Angeles Lakers and USA Basketball in 2010.

Jerry Kelly plays bogey-free Sunday at Warwick Hills and closes with a 4-under 68 for a two-shot victory in the Ally Challenge, his second victory this year on the PGA Tour Champions. He started the final round with a one-shot lead over Charles Schwab Cup leader Scott McCarron and Woody Austin. McCarron fell apart with a 75. Austin remained within one shot until a bogey on the par-4 15th. Kelly, who won for the fifth time on the PGA Tour Champions, finished at 16-under 200. He remained No. 2 in the Schwab Cup.
Joaquin Niemann became the first player from Chile to win on the PGA Tour, shooting a 6-under 64 for a six-stroke victory in A Military Tribute at The Greenbrier in West Virginia..
Suzann Pettersen rolled in the winning putt in the most dramatic Solheim Cup ever played and then immediately retired. Europe secured a 14 1/2-13 1/2 win over the United States to win the biggest team prize in female golf for the first time since 2013.
NASCAR
Martin Truex Jr. has won the opening race of NASCAR's playoffs to earn an automatic berth into the second round. Truex's victory Sunday at Las Vegas Motor Speedway was his series-best fifth of the season and again cemented Joe Gibbs Racing as the team to beat in this 10-race playoff series. JGR has 14 wins this season. Truex chased down Kevin Harvick, who was slowed by traffic, to cut into Harvick's lead and eventually make the pass for the win on the outside with 20 laps remaining. The top nine finishers were all playoff contenders as Truex was followed by Harvick, Brad Keselowski, Chase Elliott, Ryan Blaney, Alex Bowman, William Byron, Kyle Larson and reigning series champion Joey Logano.
In NASCAR news, modified stock car great Michael Stefanik has been killed in a single-engine plane crash. He was 61. Connecticut state police say the crash happened Sunday afternoon in Sterling near the Rhode Island state line. They say the single-engine, single-seat Aerolite 103 took off from the Riconn Airport in Coventry, Rhode Island, and had been turning back toward the airfield when it crashed into a wooded area near the airport. NASCAR confirmed that Stefanik was killed in the accident.
