Will Allen's interception with 1:56 left set up a Josh Scobey field goal that put Pittsburgh ahead by six points. Roethlisberger left the game after a leg got caught underneath him on a diving, sliding sack by Mark Barron. He was replaced by Michael Vick.

Papelbon began to yell at Harper from the dugout after the MVP candidate failed to run hard to first on a popup to right field in the eighth inning.
