Slow Commute Throughout Capital Region

Slippery road conditions are making commuting treacherous across the Capital Region this morning.

Several crashes and fender benders were reported as light snow turned to glaze on area roadways. 511 New York reports many "incidents." Albany police spokesman Steve Smith says it's slow going.

"Traffic is definitely heavy in a lot of areas. Lotta accidents throughout the region."

There have been delays and accidents on the Patroon Island and Dunn Memorial bridges connecting Rensselaer County with Albany County. Authorities say to clean ice and snow off your vehicle, and give yourself ample extra time to get to your destination.
