GARDEN CITY, N.Y. (AP), PHILIPSTOWN, N.Y. (WAMC) — Authorities say the getaway vehicle of a man wanted in the fatal shooting at a Long Island light fixture company was found abandoned in a Hudson Valley county.

Nassau County Executive Edward Mangano says the white SUV was found around 11 Wednesday night at Sandy Beach in Little Stony Point Park in Putnam County – that’s in Philipstown on Route 9D, The area marks the start of a popular hiking area. As the search for the suspect, Sang Ho Kim of Queens, continues, the Haldane Central School District in Cold Spring is closed Thursday, as advised by the Putnam County Sheriff's Department. In neighboring Dutchess County, also advised by police, the Beacon City School District initiated its lock-out procedures Thursday morning because of the manhunt in areas of northwestern Putnam and southwestern Dutchess. During lock-out, students are brought in from outside, all exterior doors are locked, and no one is allowed to enter or exit schools.

The alleged gunman fled following the shooting Wednesday morning that killed one person and injured another. Police Wednesday afternoon were searching areas in Orange County, around Cornwall, New Windsor, and Newburgh.
