City services in Saratoga Springs have been moved out of city hall after a small fire last week damaged a portion of the building.

Officials believe the Friday night fire on the third floor of City Hall was sparked by a lightning strike. The building sustained smoke and water damage. Mayor Meg Kelly said the building will be closed until further notice.

“Right now, everything is indefinite. The second and third floors have major damage. So we’re hoping to get people in there ASAP to start construction on the ground floor and first floor,” said Kelly.

Most city hall functions have been relocated to the City Recreation Facility at 15 Vanderbilt Avenue.
