Robert Thurman To Give Lecture At SUNY New Paltz On 11/4

Robert A.F. Thurman is the Jey Tsong Khapa Professor of Indo-Tibetan Buddhist Studies in the Department of Religion at Columbia University, President of the Tibet House U.S., a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation and promotion of Tibetan civilization, and President of the American Institute of Buddhist Studies, a non-profit affiliated with the Center for Buddhist Studies at Columbia University and dedicated to the publication of translations of important texts from the Tibetan Tengyur.

He will present a lecture entitled "Tibetan Culture as World Treasure: What It Is, How It Came to Be, What Are Its Gifts Today" at the State University of New York at New Paltz on November 4th . Thelecture is presented jointly by the Dorsky and SUNY New Paltz's Distinguished Speaker Series, in conjunction with The Dorsky exhibition, Anonymous: Contemporary Tibetan Art.

Robert Thurman’s latest book is Love Your Enemies: How to Break the Anger Habit & Be a Whole Lot Happier, co-authored by Sharon Salzberg.
