Reward Offered, Rally Planned Following Anti-Semitic Vandalism

Following vandalism of a Jewish cemetery in New York’s Orange County over the weekend, a Jewish group is offering a reward for what it’s calling a hate crime. Plus, there will be a rally of solidarity.

The Jewish Federation of Greater Orange County condemns the vandalism that took place October 9 at the Temple Beth Shalom cemetery in the Town of Warwick. President of the Jewish Federation Dr. Leslie Green says the spray-painting of swastikas is especially troubling so close to Yom Kippur. She says there is a $10,000 reward for information leading to a conviction in the case and urges public figures and community leaders to condemn the incident. In addition, Temple Beth Shalom is holding a solidarity rally at the cemetery in Florida Sunday at 11:30. Orange County Executive Steve Neuhaus Tuesday issued a statement condemning the anti-Semitic vandalism.
